Baptism

You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are accepting the responsibility of training him (her) in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring him (her) up to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking?

We celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism at our weekend Masses. Please call the Rectory to schedule a pre-baptism class and ceremony. 440.888.8220

Some ideas to help make your Catholic Faith a part of your child's every day life:

• Mark your child's baptism date on your calendar and celebrate it every year.
• Attend mass weekly with your child. Sit in the front row where he/she can see the altar.
• Enroll your child in our pre-school faith formation program Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
• If you have given your child a saint's name celebrate that saint's Feast Day every year with your child.
• Begin praying with your child even if he or she cannot speak yet. Make prayer a habitual part of his/her day.
